Playwright festival

Festival for new Danish and international drama. New theatre texts is presented as readings by both emerging talents and established artists. The playwrights are selected via an open call in collaboration with partners from Catalonia, France and Germany. The festival also offers talks and events, and all readings are in English to ensure accessibility and inclusion.

Ancient Greek One Man Show

Critically acclaimed re-telling of a re-telling of an Ancient Greek myth.

Break the ceiling

This powerful and humorous play by writer Fergal O'Byrne looks at the challenges of breaking through the glass ceiling in a corporate culture where ‘business as usual’ is threatened by innovation. When old-fashioned ideals collide with the drive of a new generation, the stage is set for a powerful showdown about leadership, gender and ambition.

Dream on

This award-winning tragicomedy and fast-paced two-hander captures 15 characters from excitement to fading glamour. Jake and Charlie are thirty-somethings who meet when working as extras on a big American movie set. The movie is a wonderful break from worrying about their futures, until the harsh realities of rural life break through.

The power-hungry elite

A play of brutal and ruthless ambition and their monstrous consequences. The ensemble of Københavns Shakespeare Kompagni brings this new, intimate and affecting production to Copenhagen’s storytelling stage at Teater Deer and Rabbits. Macbeth and Lady Macbeth murder their way to power and titles in the harsh magic of medieval Scotland.

Physical theater

Like a chameleon, Richard Kimberley dissects modern masculinity with a keen sense of body language, movement and character. Through physical theatre, improvisation and pantomime, drawn from the clown tradition, we are taken through Jimmy's development from child to man and all the tragic aspects of a patriarchal society. An intimate and tragicomic solo performance that invites you to laugh, cry and be deeply confused.

Romeo and Juliet survived!

The friars plan worked! But secret rural living is tough, age, bandits and bishops are unforgiving and twenty years later everyone just wants to go home. But how? Luckily, the friar has a plan, another plan. Well, he hopes to form a plan but he is on the run from gangsters and bishops, but it’ll be fine, it worked out well last time.

Finding strength together

Chairs is about a group of women who meet in a support group after being affected by breast cancer. They come from different walks of life and have different ways of coping with the illness, but through conversations, conflicts, and shared experiences, a special sense of community emerges.

Revisiting the German zeitgeist

Travel back to the dazzling Babylon era of one of the most vibrant and show-stopping cities of the time: Berlin at the beginning of the 1930s. In between two world wars and amidst cultural highlights the like of Fritz Lang's "Metropolis", Kurt Weil & Berthold Brecht's "Threepenny Opera", Marlene Dietrich and Josephine Baker.

This performance explores the deep connection between our inner lives and the vast, ever-changing elements of the universe that surrounds.
